
WHAT IS A LAPAROSCOPY?
It is the introduction of a telescopic lens through the navel for the purpose of observing the pelvic organs and therefore be able to identify and treat certain diseases. It is a sophisticated method that requires additional training.
WHAT ADVANTAGES DOES LAPAROSCOPY HAVE OVER OPEN SURGERY?
Minimally invasive surgery such as a Laparoscopic Procedure is acknowledged to leave small and aesthetically compliant scarring (smaller than 1 centimetre), quick recovery prior to the procedure, substantially less bleeding, diminished risk of infection better visualization of the pelvic organs over open surgical procedures.

Diagnostic:
- Pelvic Pain.
- Proper assessment of infertility pertaining to the fallopian tubes.
Therapeutic:
- Healing techniques for treatment of pelvic pain
- Endometriosis

- Hysterectomy (removuml of the uterus)
- Fallopian tube surgery and ectopic pregnancy

WHAT IS A HYSTEROSCOPY?
It is the introduction of a lens through the cervical channel in order to observe its interior. It has diagnostic and therapeutic purposes such as the treatment and detection of polyps, fibromas, intrauterine adherences and uterine malformations.
