WHAT IS A LAPAROSCOPY?
It is the introduction of a telescopic lens through the navel for the purpose of observing the pelvic organs and therefore be able to identify and treat certain diseases. It is a sophisticated method that requires additional training.

WHAT ADVANTAGES DOES LAPAROSCOPY HAVE OVER OPEN SURGERY?
Minimally invasive surgery such as a Laparoscopic Procedure is acknowledged to leave small and aesthetically compliant scarring (smaller than 1 centimetre), quick recovery prior to the procedure, substantially less bleeding, diminished risk of infection better visualization of the pelvic organs over open surgical procedures.

WHAT IS A HYSTEROSCOPY?
It is the introduction of a lens through the cervical channel in order to observe its interior and fix it.

It has diagnostic and therapeutic purposes such as the treatment and detection of polyps, fibromas, intrauterine adherences, partitions and implant failures (failed in-vitro).

This procedure is performed with anesthesia when using the surgical method (surgical hysteroscopy) when an intrauterine pathology is found, but if a laparoscopy has been scheduled for the patient it must be done routinary, in a diagnostics manner (diagnostic hysteroscopy) in the same anesthetics time to complete the studies and improve pregnancy rates.

Total Medical Honoraries:

• Laparoscopy:
  $1200 (medical honoraries) + $1000 (ambulatory room) = $2200
• Hysteroscopy:
  $450 (medical honoraries) + $450 (ambulatory room) = $900
• Laparoscopy + hysteroscopy cases:
  Only the laparoscopy is charged = $2200

Other proceedures:

• Ultrasonographic ovary cyst aspiration:
  $250 (honoraries) + $200 (room) = $450
• Testicular or epididimar aspiraction:
  $300 (honoraries) + $300 (room) = $600
